Three Kano Pillars FC players are currently undergoing treatment at
the Aminu Kano Teaching Hospital, Kano state, as a result of an attack
by gunmen on their way to Owerri, Imo state, for a match with Heartland
FC. The players who have been identified as Adamu Murtala, Gambo
Muhammad and Otakpa Oneji, sustained bullet wounds which are being
treated at the Teaching Hospital. The victims described the attack as vicious especially as the team engaged in the trip for a common good. The
Governor of Kano State, Rabiu Musa Kwankwaso, promised that the state
government would finance the hospital bills of the victims.
