NFF Crisis: Giwa’s Faction Withdraws Case From Court


The lingering crisis rocking the Nigeria Football Federation (NFF) will soon be over as Ambassador Chris Giwa-led faction have finally withdrawn their case against the Amaju Pinnick-led board from the Jos High Court and to set to embrace peace.
Presiding judge, Justice Ambrose Allagoa struck out the suit yesterday after the plaintiffs indicated that they would no longer continue with the case. The case filed by Obinna Ogba and Yahaya Adama; who are both members of the Giwa-led faction.
The decision by Chris Giwa-led faction to withdraw their case from court, LEADERSHIP-friday sports reliably gathered was facilitated by President Goodluck Jonathan, who they said furious about how the country has been portrayed in bad light with the unending crisis in football.
Minister of Sports and Chairman National Sports Commission (NSC), Tammy Danagogo said the President for his love football and Nigerian youths intervene in the logjam to safe the country from FIFA’s ban from international competitions and other football related matters.
Giwa who has consistently argued that he remains the legally elected NFF President was before now appealed to by the Sport Minister Tammy Danagogo to withdraw his litigation against the Football House, however the appeal was not heeded to.
The Sports Minister stated that Giwa and indeed the other factions should look at the bigger picture-Nigeria rather their own personal self.
With the latest development, Nigeria looks set to escape a backlash from the world football governing body who had given the country till midday of Friday October 31 to furnish It with proof that all cases in civil courts against the NFF has been withdrawn.
