Nigerians reportedly spent N602.6 billion on airtime for their phones between January and May 2014, according to New Telegraph. The
figure was derived by analysis of the the subscriber data released
monthly by the Nigerian Communications Commission (NCC), and the current
industry’s Average Revenue Per User (ARPU) provided by telecoms
operators.
With 57.2 million
telephone users on its network, MTN currently has the largest subscriber
base and revenue generation of all the networks in the country. Airtel
Nigeria comes in second with 25.5 million; Globacom is third with 23.4
million, and Etisalat is 4th, with 18.5 million users on its network. The aforementioned ranking is based on data released in March. That’s a whole lot of money! what do u think.
